We just uprgaded to a new server, with Threads 6.2.3 and and IIP 5.3 the same versions we were using on our old server.
If a person logs in and then closes his browser and returns to the IIP entrance page he is shown as logged out, even though he didn't log out. However if he then clicks on the main index page it shows him as logged in----and if he goes BACK to IIP it will show him as logged in.
I've tried refreshing the cache and then going back in but no matter what I try to do IIP just doesn't want to "hold" the login---unless the user accesses the main index page first.
Browser cache perhaps. If the cookies are site wide there should be no problems. IIP uses .threads to verify a user's login status so it's not IIP that's seeing the user isn't logged in. I get that here sometimes when I load the index into my browser. If I use the full url including the index.php?Cat= then the correct view is loaded. If I just visit www.ubbdev.com then my browser's cache seems to take presidence. Perhaps one way around this would be to have the index page check the URL and see if it includes "index.php?Cat=" and if not reload the page to include that so it's a up to date view?
That has to do with using the domain name and the IP address side by side. Once the domain resolves everywhere and you switch to the domain name only, that'll go away.

Your domain name is working for me today. [/]
As usual, Josh knows his stuff.
Once I changed all the references from the IP address to the domain name the problem corrected itself.
